ADELAIDE, EYRE PENINSULA. TO MELBOURNE

InOn November 1st  2023, Pamela and I decided  idea to plan our long awaited car drive from Adelaide to Eyre Peninsula and the great Ocean Road, Victoria.
Pamela booked from Mudgee via Sydney on november 10th, booked a hotel in inner Adelaide city , also car hire. I booked from Bundaberg, returning from Melbourne on December 6th.

This is a photo taken at Childers so I can remember how pretty my area is while I'm interstate.

Adelaide airport is by far the best airport I've seen. It's modern, has a wide variety of food and people are helpful.
We walked along the road to the Central markets. Some of the buildings along the way are beautiful and  old.   food stores, all sorts of wonderful things beautifully displayed. We wandered about  and had a bit of a sit down. Then we caught the tram back to our apartment.

In the afternoon we boarded the tram to Glenelg, where we had a beer for strength to enable us to go on the.  Ferris wheel. The view of the Bay and beautiful buildings
was amazing. First time for a couple of kids excited about their adventure. We were impressed by beautiful trees on either side of the tram line.

While waiting for Pamela to arrive, I relaxed by the heated pool at our hotel
The entrance to Government House. Adelaide has beautiful wide streets lined by trees.

We hired a zippy Mazda 3 in Adelaide, returning it at Melbourne Airport to Hertz depot.
We travelled 3.120 ks.!!!!!

We left Adelaide at 10 a.m. on Sunday 12th, stopping for coffee at Two Wells, an old small town off the highway.

After a short stop at busy Port Pirie, we departed for Point Germein, and beautiful old port town about an hour south of Port Augusta.  The country is good for nothing except hundreds of ugly huge wind farms.

We stayed at a comfy demountable in the caravan park at Port Germein, and did a load of washing, dried by wind overnight.

Beautiful Two Wells.

Old town of Port Germein. Named after Samuel Germein who moved into the territory in 1840. His brother John was the first European to traverse the area. The township was proclaimed in 1878. The population in 2006 was 249.
